History

The legacy that brought us here

Founded in October 2002, Neckmolde's main activity is the manufacture of moulds and accessories for the glass container industry.

Headquartered in Ortigosa, in the municipality and district of Leiria, it began production with three people who had more than twenty-five years of experience in this industry, giving the project a high level of product knowledge from the outset, both in production and in quality.

Neckmolde has expanded steadily in people, equipment and technology. Today it is a modern operation of 36 highly specialised people, with an annual output of 35,000 neck rings.

Who leads Neckmolde

A family company with three partners, and a path that begins long before the company existed.

Carlos Cruz

Carlos Cruz

Founder

It was 1973 when the 18-year-old had his first job interview at the newly founded Intermolde. Over the next 29 years he moved through several departments, heading design, programming and planning.

At the end of those 29 years he decided to start a project of his own, Neckmolde, with two partners from the same company covering turning and metallisation.

With a vision built around quality and customer satisfaction, he led the project to exponential growth. In May 2015 the new family owned company was established with Carlos, Tiago and João Cruz.

Tiago Cruz

Tiago Cruz

Partner and Production Director

At Neckmolde since October 2005 and a partner since May 2015. At 16 he began spending his school holidays at Intermolde as a CNC milling operator.

As head of quality, he made sure one of Neckmolde's core strengths held over the years. Having worked in turning and milling, he knows the full manufacturing flow of the company's products.

With the arrival of PTA technology he took specific technical training in Portugal and abroad, and today also heads the metallisation department.

João Cruz

João Cruz

Partner and Sales Director

He started in the mould industry at 16, operating CNC lathes and milling machines during school breaks.

An Industrial Management Engineer from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, he completed his master's dissertation at Linköping University in Sweden.

After two years as a project manager in the plastic injection mould industry, responsible for export markets, he joined Neckmolde as Sales Director in June 2015.
